The project, commissioned by the Malatya Directorate of Public Works and Housing, commenced in 1988 and was completed in 1993. At the time of its completion, the building was Malatya’s largest hotel, featuring 99 rooms, including 2 suites, with a total capacity of 204 beds. The project included reinforced concrete construction, architectural and finishing works, mechanical and electrical installations. The Altın Kayısı Hotel began its operations in 1993.

In 2009, the hotel's architectural plans were entirely redesigned, additional facilities were incorporated, and the property was relaunched as the Ramada Plaza Malatya Altın Kayısı Hotel in November 2012.
