The contract for the project was signed on January 17, 2022, with Eti Maden General Directorate as the client. The facility is designed to have an annual production capacity of 500 tons, featuring a drying furnace and Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) capable of producing 2,500 kg of finished goods per day. The facility consists of seven main production units: Raw Material Storage Unit, Raw Material Preparation Unit, Raw Material Weighing & Feeding Unit,Smelting Unit, Casting & Cooling Unit, Crushing & Screening Unit, Packaging Unit.

As Turkey’s first Ferroboron Production Facility, the project will enable the production of ferroboron, a material having extensive and specialized use cases in aerospace, automotive, and defense industries. Developed through technology transfer from China, this facility is positioned as a strategic milestone for enhancing Turkey's market share in the global boron industry, given that Turkey holds the world’s largest boron reserves.
